Covering all bases
The job spanned three venues: the Energy Events Centre in Rotorua, Baypark Arena and Tangatarua Marae for outdoor ceremonies. Each brought its own requirements.
At the Energy Events Centre and Baypark
- Multi-camera live streaming with a mix of manned and fixed cameras, capturing every graduate from the best angles — no more side or back shots.
- Foyer screens — 75-inch displays so guests arriving or passing through could follow the ceremony live.
- Projection support — at Baypark we specified extra projectors and screens so every guest had a great view.
At Tangatarua Marae we adapted the set-up for an open-air environment.
A collaborative effort
We met the Toi Ohomai events team on site ahead of time to map out stage layouts and technical needs, and worked with Baypark’s in-house team on gear and venue logistics.
For many families, especially those watching from afar, the live stream is their main way to be part of a once-in-a-lifetime moment. We focused on a reliable, polished broadcast that did justice to every graduate’s mahi.
