Fisher concert - Temporary Wifi

Earlier this year, we teamed up with Trademark Live to deliver a full-site WiFi network for the Fisher concert in central Auckland an epic event with thousands of punters, crew, vendors, and artists all needing solid connectivity.

Our brief? A rock solid connection with redundancy —from production staff and point-of-sale systems to artist lounges and ticketing. With a large footprint and high demand for bandwidth, we were required to deploy our network over a massive 36,000 sqm.

What We Delivered

We designed and deployed a number of stadium access points and gigabit switches to handle the load and ensure stable, high-speed internet across the site, even during peak crowd times. The venue (Victoria Park) was in a high RF environment so constant monitoring and tuning was essential.

Site-wide WiFi coverage for:

• Crew communications and production control

• Point-of-sale systems across multiple bar areas

• Artist and green room connectivity

• Security and operations

• Ticketing (3 gates)

Network backbone featuring:

• Starlink and 1GB backhaul

• Fibre trunk across site to sub sites

• Point-to-point wireless links (60GHz) for speed and low latency across the site

• 2.4GHz failover paths for redundancy and stability

• Smart traffic shaping to prioritise critical systems

• QOS (bars and ticketing being high priority)

At peak times, we had thousands of concurrent devices on the network, constant monitoring and tuning was essential to ensure we provided our client devices a stable connection. AT its peak, the venue has close to 30,000 attendees.
